Artists Write Your Story

$157.00

An amazing gift for yourself or your favorite artist. Vermeer, Monet, O’Keefe, Van Gogh – all amazing artists whose work was prized AFTER their deaths. Many collectors, educators and more would love to know more about what is behind the artwork.

This course is for experienced artists who have reached a level of mastery and have created a diverse collection of work over a lifetime. Writing about origins and inspirations gives the viewer a richer experience. The whole is greater than the sum of the parts.

This will be a small zoom class of four sessions with individual mentoring. There will be specific exercises to help you get the words to flow – mind maps, visual memory files and more. Also covered are tips on photographing your work with a cell phone and creating image files for images to post online and images to print.

Description

As a child Maud Guilfoyle spent summers by the sea on Fire Island and in the mountains of Pennsylvania. Her mother, Peregrine Higgins was an artist, and her grandfather a photographer. In her twenties she lived in the Southwest with incredible vistas of sky, dusty pink colored mountains and silver rivers running through the landscape. Nature, and human interface with it, are threaded throughout her art. While writing 5 ebooks about art, one a memoir (Art By Two), Maud learned a few exercises to help your process. She has taught privately and in The Art School at Old Church and The Art Center Northern New Jersey for 28 years.
